Common questions

Before you hire.

How is a cost controller different from a bookkeeper?

A bookkeeper primarily supports accounting records and transactions. A project cost controller focuses on project budgets, actual costs, commitments and forecast reporting. Some tasks overlap, so we agree the responsibilities before recruiting.

How is this different from a quantity surveyor?

A quantity surveyor may focus on measurement, valuations and commercial administration. A cost controller typically focuses on maintaining and reporting project cost information. Your business may combine duties, but the brief should make the required experience clear.

Will Lynk manage our project costs?

No. We recruit and support the person who joins your team. Your managers direct their work, review their reports and retain responsibility for budgets, forecasts, payments and commercial decisions.
