About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Drafter to join our team and work directly with an established Australian construction and fabrication company specialising in architectural metalwork, façades and bespoke fabricated structures. This is a technical drafting role suited to someone with strong experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ideally within metal fabrication, structural steel, architectural metalwork or a similar environment.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Preparing fabrication, shop and construction drawings
- Developing detailed models from architectural and engineering drawings
- Drafting components, assemblies and fabricated metal structures
- Preparing drawings for architectural metalwork, façades, screens, balustrades and custom fabricated items
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information
- Making revisions and updates based on design and project requirements
- Ensuring drawings are accurate, practical and suitable for fabrication
- Working closely with designers, engineers, project managers and the fabrication team
- Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and documentation
- Minimum 3+ years' drafting experience preferred
- Strong SolidWorks experience - essential
- Strong AutoCAD experience - essential
- Experience producing fabrication or shop drawings
- Understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Experience with architectural metalwork, structural steel, façades or similar construction-related work highly regarded
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and spoken English
- Comfortable working directly with an Australian team
- Work on Australian construction projects and integrate directly with the company and team
