The brief
SDE is a specialist steel detailing business. Its published services include Tekla Structures modelling, shop fabrication drawings, general arrangement and erection drawings, material lists and manufacturing data. The Lynk hire was for structural drafting in Tekla, rather than a general CAD role.
That distinction shaped the search. Relevant steel detailing experience and the candidate’s own work in Tekla mattered alongside general drafting ability.
How the arrangement works
SDE gives the drafter project information, priorities and technical feedback, and retains drawing review and approval. Lynk handles recruitment, Philippine employment, payroll, HR, equipment and local IT support. The drafter works in Lynk’s Manila office while taking day-to-day direction from SDE.
The outcome
SDE added one dedicated structural Tekla drafter to its team.
